What are Blue Radicals？

- 2.Oral examination and brushing instruction
- Once you are satisfied with the consultation, we will perform an oral examination of the patient. Based on the results of the examination, we will propose an appropriate treatment plan and future brushing instructions for the patient.
- 3.Initial treatment/blue radical treatment
- Before blue radical treatment, if the oral condition is not good, initial treatment will be performed. Blue radical treatment is based on the premise of treating the entire oral cavity (block by block), as the antibacterial effect will be lost if infection occurs in any tooth other than the affected tooth. Blue radical treatment is performed at the same time as removing tartar and plaque and cleaning.
- 4.Regarding regular maintenance
- Regular maintenance is required to maintain the antibacterial effect of blue radical treatment. We recommend an annual maintenance plan. Can Blue Radicals cure periodontal disease? How many treatments are required?
Blue Radical is a medical device approved by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. It is effective in many symptoms, including reducing periodontal pocket depth, reducing bleeding and swelling, and improving bad breath, significantly improving the symptoms of periodontal disease. It should primarily be considered a plaque control treatment. The general guideline for the number of treatments is two to three times (one to two weeks apart) for mild to moderate periodontal disease, and three to five times for moderate to severe disease. Is there any pain during treatment? Does it have any effect on the human body?
There is no harm to the human body. It is less painful than conventional dental treatment, and patients say it feels like they are having their teeth cleaned. There is also little discomfort after treatment, so you can return to your normal daily life.
Is Blue Radical covered by insurance? What is the estimated cost of treatment?
Blue Radical Treatment is an elective treatment, and can be performed at our clinic for approximately 15,000 yen per tooth (minimum 3 teeth per block). We will decide on a treatment plan based on the patient's oral condition, so please come in for a consultation first. Patients suffering from periodontal disease, regardless of whether it is mild or severe, should definitely consider this treatment. We also have maintenance plans available, so please rest assured.
Is it possible to come to the hospital from a distance?
We have many patients from far away and we accept them widely.
For those who come from far away, we recommend an intensive treatment program to reduce the number of visits to the hospital as much as possible.
Is it also effective in treating peri-implantitis?
Treatment for peri-implantitis usually involves cleaning and disinfecting the inflamed area, and in severe cases, the gums may be incised, but Blue Radical does not require incisions, so there is almost no pain during or after treatment, and there is almost no burden on the patient. This makes it an extremely attractive treatment device for patients who are concerned about implant maintenance.
How long do the effects of Blue Radicals last?
